Love Scavenger Hunt

Love Scavenger Hunt

Organize a scavenger hunt where children search for items that represent love or happiness, like a favorite toy, a heart-shaped rock, or something red or pink.

This can be executed on any scale, with one object in the morning (think, keep the child busy while you take care of business), or on a weekend with 5-10 objects, like an Easter Egg Hunt. Or perhaps on a play date or at a birthday party, several children can get in on the fun of the  hunt.

Take one or more objects the children love, or that represent love and happiness, like a favorite toy, a heart-shaped rock, a heart-shaped note, a valentine candy or small teddy-bear, or anything pink or red, and hide them around the house and/or yard. You can either give clues or have the child search on their own, until they find all of them.

This gives you as a parent some good insight into how the child’s mind works, their problem-solving skills, perseverance and creativity at the task. Be sure to verbally reward them for a good job in finding the objects and get feedback on the hiding places, so you can provide them with a fun challenge the next time!
